El Castillo de las Guardas is located on a mountainside in the Sierra Morena of Seville, 55 kilometres from Seville. It belongs to the region "El Corredor de la Plata", being our municipality the capital of the region.

It is bordered by two natural parks of great importance: the Sierra de Aracena y Picos de Aroche Natural Park, in Huelva, and the Sierra Norte Natural Park, in Seville.

Pure nature and centuries of history are waiting to be discovered by the traveller in search of tranquillity, peace, tradition, wellbeing and open-air leisure.

One of the singularities of Castillo de las Guardas is the dispersion of its municipality into several population centres, but not its disunity. The main nucleus is El Castillo de las Guardas, its 10 hamlets: La Alcornocosa, Archidona, Arroyo de la Plata, La Aulaga, Las Cañadillas, El Cañuelo, Las Cortecillas, El Peralejo, Peroamigo and Valdeflores; and several scattered urban centres.

The River Guadiamar, the last tributary of the River Guadalquivir, rises in El Castillo de las Guardas, near the village of Las Cortecillas. It forms an ideal spot with attractive landscapes, fauna and flora along its course.

A land of pastures, mountains and mines, we find ourselves in our municipality. Surrounded by rockroses, broom, pines, holm oaks, cork oaks, gorse, strawberry trees and rosemary, it is the most representative landscape of our municipality.

Habitat of the fighting bull and other livestock farms. Prestigious cattle ranches breed their cattle in the municipality of El Castillo de las Guardas.

Focused on promoting municipal policies that are committed to boosting the tourism sector, we are launching this new tourism services portal, where you can find everything from our hiking trails approved by the Andalusian Mountaineering Federation, gastronomy, natural environment, scenic beauty, cultural heritage and gastronomy.

The aim of this virtual space is to situate the visitor in our municipality before physically arriving to it, and to inspire them to come to our town and experience for themselves the charm of Castillo de las Guardas.
